What is 12?

 

 

 

What is 12? 12 loves playing Runescape and instant messaging friends (one who lives right next door and another 4 houses away) for hours on end. Builds huge Lego creations and still gives Mom incredible hugs. Eats ice cream 'til the cows come home. "Mom, can I have ice cream for my after-school snack? Please??!" 12 "sort-of" practices drums when Mom asks for the 3rd time, and sometimes practices really loud when Mom's on the phone. 12 laughs hysterically at silly things - well, things that seem silly to newly-turned 12-year old boys. Re-occurrences in this 12-year old's life are weird jokes and crazy backbends, and the constant cracking of some body part - knuckles, neck, back...you name it! Evidently it's especially fun to crack the knuckles during church when all is quiet!

Basketball is big for 12. Loves the competition and games each Saturday (except for the 8:30am games ~ Mom and Dad agree with him on those!). Shooting airsoft guns with friends Matt & Andrew and little brother Hayden is awesome too...wrestling with big brother Mitch and arguing - oops, debating - with Parker occur frequently. 12 loves his Dad tons, too.

12 is almost always smiling, with a cute twinkle in his eye. He is enthusiastic, loud, forever tips back in his chair, and he's happy. 12 is sweet and cares about people. He is a good friend and is responsible. One of my sweetest moments this year was when 12 gave me a special birthday present. He rode his bike to Walgreens, where he picked out a CUTE watch, and wrapped it up to surprise me on my birthday (all on his own, with no prompting from anyone!). 12 then pronounced Walgreens as his favorite store, as it has everything, and everything's so cheap! (yep, I like it too! But Target and the 99 Cent Only store are tough competition...tho' they're not as close).

Right now, 12 wants to be a carpenter. He likes to read, and he loves life. He's at that strange yet sweet age ~ almost a teenager, but still a child. A big, cute puppy that I don't want to grow up quite yet!

But, most of all, 12 is a good person. He was excited to be ordained a Deacon in church on Sunday, and to receive the Priesthood.
